The Lord Mayor’s Office and Coventry Cathedral have issued a joint statement around a new date for the Rock the Ruins Charity concert:
“As event organisers we’ve taken the decision to move the proposed Rock the Ruins charity concert set to take place this Friday evening (26 May) to a new date of Saturday 1 July.
Given the key aims of the concert was to raise funds for the Lord Mayor’s two official charities, Teenage Cancer Trust and Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice and provide a showcase for some of Coventry’s finest musical talent, the new date will ensure a bigger lead time to promote the event, sell more tickets and raise bigger funds for the charities, plus also provide a much better atmosphere for gig goers and increased profile for all those taking part.
A big added benefit of the new date is that it will form part of the Godiva Festival 2017 Fringe programme, therefore benefitting from the additional profile and branding exposure linked to the festival. Event organisers are happy to honour existing ticket holders so tickets are transferable for the new date. Should ticket holders want a refund, then people should email email@example.com.
We want to apologise for the inconvenience of moving to a new date and for those people looking forward to taking part this Friday night; however our ambition is to come back with a bigger and better Rock the Ruins, generating more funds for the charities and making a night to remember in the lead-up to Godiva 2017.”
