Sphinx Give Walsall Wood A Game To Four Get

Coventry Sphinx put in a superb performance to see off Walsall Wood 4-0.

Sphinx had a goal ruled out in the third minute and after Wordsworth was given a straight red in the 33rd minute of this MFL Premier Division fixture at Sphinx Drive, Jamie Towers tapped in from a Garrity cross to give Sphinx a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The second half saw Sphinx take total control. Another disallowed goal was followed by Nathan Garrity getting in on the right and smashing the ball into the net in the 59th minute.

Chances continued for Sphinx who were continually denied by the keeper and visiting defenders which included former Coventry City youngster Rikki Bains.

In the 76th minute, Jamie Towers burst through and slipped the ball into the net for the third and seven minutes later, a thirty yarder from Reece Blackmore flew into the net to give Sphinx who travel to Long Eaton on Monday an excellent 4-0 victory which their support enjoyed.
