Coventry Blaze beat Nottingham Panthers 6-5 in over-time on New Year’s Eve.
At the National Ice Arena, Schultz gave Nottingham a lead on 3.04 but on the powerplay, Josh Godfrey fired the Blaze level, assisted by Syner & Marquardt on 10.43.
Robinson put the Blaze ahead early in the second period only for Nikiforuk to even things up on 34.06.
On 35.20, Ross Venus fired home, assisted by Jorgensen, but 21 seconds later, Jason Williams made it 3-3 and with 1.34 left of the period, Carter saw the Blaze 4-3 down going into the third.
With fifteen minutes left, Robin Bergman, assisted by Robinson and Pietrus, equalised again.
There was a minute left when Liam Stewart scored a fifth goal for Coventry but with four seconds left, Nottingham equalised to take the game into over-time.
In over-time, Brett Robinson scored and the Blaze took a 5-4 win.
