Coventry Blaze went down to a third successive defeat in Scotland with an 8-2 defeat at Edinburgh Capitals tonight.
The Blaze having lost at Dundee & Fife arrived at Murrayfield for their final game of this Scottish tour and went 1-0 down on 6.28 when MacDougall netted.
On 9.20, Plews scored a second goal and the Blaze were 2-0 down at the end of the first.
Jordan Pietrus smashed home a shot on the powerplay on 28.25 but MacDougall scored again on 30.13 and with 4.07 left in the period, Edinburgh had a fourth goal and then a fifth before the end of the second period.
Staal scored a sixth on 44.23 and with 7.20 left of the match, Edinburgh had a seventh goal.
Almeida scored his first goal for the Blaze on 56.16 but Edinburgh were not finished scoring an eighth goal through Staal on the power play with 2.29 left of a match that the Blaze lost 8-2.
